Negen verschillende kunstenaars, samen in residentie bij hedendaags kunstplatform Derde Wal. De residentie, onder de noemer Social Aspects, is een project met een sociaal experimenteel karakter. Kunstenaars worden aangemoedigd om buiten de kaders van geijkte presentatieruimtes te treden en op zoek te gaan naar een samenwerking met de publieke ruimte. Hier ontstaat een andere manier van kijken en werken. Dat levert verrassende projecten in de publieke ruimte.
Social Aspects 2022 vond plaats op 7 tot en met 9 oktober. Het weekend werd geopend met een feestelijke openingsparade die langs alle projecten trok. Op verschillende plekken, zoals het Hunnerpark en de Molenpoort, werd de publieke ruimte toegeëigend door de negen kunstenaars om samen met het publiek te experimenteren.
De passant of de terrasbezoeker werd uitgenodigd om deel te nemen aan reflectieve workouts en de creatie van home-deco kunstwerken. Er vonden performances door de stad plaats met alternatieve, muzikale improvisaties. Het Hunnerpark was het decor van natuurlijke interventies die reflecteerden op de al dan niet gebaande paden. Uit verrijkende samenwerkingen ontstonden een opgraving met archeologische en historische verbinding en een installatie voortkomend uit onderzoek naar micro-organismen. Er waren nomadische soundscapes en locatiespecifieke installaties te bezoeken die een moment van bezinning boden, als tegenhangers van het kermisgedruis.

Nine different artists, together in residence at contemporary art platform Derde Wal. The residency, under the heading Social Aspects, is a project with a social experimental character. Artists are encouraged to step outside the boundaries of standard presentation spaces and to look for a collaboration with the public space. This creates a different way of looking and working. This results in surprising projects in the public space.
Social Aspects 2022 took place from 7 to 9 October. The weekend was opened with a festive opening parade that passed all projects. In various places, such as the Hunnerpark and the Molenpoort, the public space was appropriated by the nine artists to experiment with the public.
The passer-by or the terrace visitor was invited to participate in reflective workouts and the creation of home-deco works of art. Performances took place through the city with alternative, musical improvisations. The Hunnerpark was the setting for natural interventions that reflected on the structured or organic paths. Enriching collaborations resulted in an excavation with an archaeological and historical connection and an installation resulting from research into micro-organisms. There were nomadic soundscapes and location-specific installations to visit that offered a moment of reflection, as counterparts to the fairground noise.
